Sculptra dramatically boosts the body’s natural ability to produce collagen, offering a gradual, natural-looking, and long term solution for significant signs of aging in the face and neck.
An L-Polylactic Acid collagen stimulator that stimulates your own collagen (by injection) to fill out hollow areas, Sculptra offers a minimally invasive and convenient treatment option for restoring the body’s collagen production after it has decreased as a result of aging.
Active ingredient Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) dramatically boosts the body’s collagen production, delivering gradual improvement of the skin’s elasticity and moisture retention over the months (or even years) following Sculptra treatment. Sculptra is most commonly used to treat areas of the face and neck which may appear sunken, loose, or display deep lines or wrinkles, such as the area under the eyes, the cheeks, along the jawline, the neck, or the lines which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Collagen is a protein found throughout the body which, among other things, helps to maintain our skin’s elasticity and moisture. As we age, our body’s ability to produce collagen decreases and our skin loses qualities such as elasticity, volume, smoothness, and moisture retention.
While dietary supplements are a popular method of compensating for lost collagen, dermal injection is the most effective means of replenishing lost collagen in aging skin. Unlike other dermal fillers, Sculptra does not simply increase volume by taking up space within the skin. Instead, it gradually replenishes volume as collagen levels increase over the course of several months. Sculptra requires multiple treatments over several months (roughly 6 months apart), and results are usually visible after the second treatment.

Sculptra injections do not create instant volume like other fillers do. This is because Sculptra is designed to prompt the body to produce volume through its natural process. While the results do take longer to realize, Sculptra’s results often look more natural than those of other fillers, and last longer.
Patients may return to their regular activities immediately following treatment, however it is recommended that exercise is avoided for 24 hours.
After 3 to 4 initial treatments, it is often recommended that patients receive treatments annually to maintain their results.
One treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
A topical anesthetic applied to the treatment area prior to injection as well as lidocaine within the Sculptra injections make treatment easy to endure.
